Mmmm, it looks not difficult to mend. I think the problem is that both codes, new and old are mixed. There are codes for the second sidebar and for the first. Personally, I would copy the code directly from your administrator console, not from the web. Copy it to a note pad. Then, change the mask to an other different to clean the code. Change it again to the one you had. I did it once I broke my web and I cleaned the corrupt code. After that, insert the parts you consider, step by step, not all together. You will notice that ellements come back to its original place. I did it and worked. Very important: once you have recovered the site as you like, do a backup. A notepad is enough. And for the next time: before doing important changes do another backup. I have allways three or four different backups on different drives. I hope I help you anyway. If not, you can write to my gmail account try something.

Hi Morris glad to see you back.
I recommend backing up your current template and reloading the default 'rounders 3' template style again from the 'pick new' section. Then it's just a long winded matter of copy pasting back any new 'non default code you have made for your older template you backed up. That should get you back to square one. Now I suspect that beta.blogger will soon make it alot easier to add a 2nd sidebar so it may pay to wait, but if you can't then I hunted down this rather nice example of a 3 column blog using your 'rounders 3' template, so I figure thats just a matter of again viewing the page source, copy pasting that into your html editor and making the necessary adjustments from your backed up template.

Anyway, hope this rant atleast helps to get you back to where things went pear shaped. Gimme a shout if you need anything okay? - Cheers

I find it ironic (and funny) to read this blog above a post entitled Dumbies Guide To Blogging.

Good luck fixing the problem!

Hey there - ERU sent e-mailed me about your little problem with the 'Rounders' template.

I'm not going to go view your source code and try to figure out what went wrong - that's the fun job for you!

It's not going to be difficult to fix by the looks of it - you're probably just missing a line of code or forgot to close a tag.

Here's how I would fix it -

1) copy and paste your template as it is into Notepad and SAVE! (Do this regularly as this will serve as your backup when you muck things up again, and you will!)

2) visit http://www.thrbrtemplates.blogspot.com/ and download his 3 col version of the 'rounders' template.

Now, you have two options:

1) you can paste the template from Thur's site directly into your blog and add back each link one by one (yawn).

2) alternatively, you can open both your's and thurs' 3 col template side by side in notepad and read it line for line to see what piece of code you delted. It sounds like a long job but trust me, it will be quicker to read through it than to add each link one by one. But it is down to personal preference.

Hope it works out.

Bernie

I suggest using the preview button before saving changes, I've saved myself many hours of frustration by doing that.
